By watching this trailer for the infamous 'Saw' movie, I learnt a few things that would surely help me in the production of my opening sequence. For example, it helped me to realise that if I portray my actors as scared and frightened, then the audience would empathize with them. This was a very useful technique to learn as it helped to make my finished product more effective. Also, despite not having included 'gore' in my opening sequence, I learnt that by using such effects, the audience are on edge, squemish, and constantly wary.
What 'Saw' also showed me was that by playing on the psychological aspects of human behaviour and by exploring their reactions to stress, I can effectively portray my characters in a way that could relate to the audience in some way or another.
